As you enter through the porch to the bar, that sits between the snug and a larger dining room, you’ll be met with a homely relaxed atmosphere. We have a well stocked bar that also serves good local beers & ciders from Palmers Brewery, Bridport. Sarah and her team offer a varied menu of wholesome delicious home-cooked country pub food.
We have regular themed food nights and on Sundays our speciality roast is something to savour. For the non-meat eaters there is always a choice of vegetarian and vegan dishes. (On Mondays we are closed at lunch time.)
‘’This winning combination of good beers and delicious food makes the Hare and Hounds the epitome of a good pub. Definitely a cut above the average!’’ - Mrs L, Dorchester
Outside there is ample space for parking and a large open, child-friendly garden with panoramic views over a timeless landscape of rolling hills, small fields and woodland looking towards the ancient Iron Age hill fort of Eggardon on the edge of the Marshwood Vale.
We welcome muddy boots, dogs and (well behaved) children.
